About Sonesta St. George

Sonesta St. George I is Sonesta's five-star Nile cruise ship. It entered service in 2006 and is known for its ornate interiors, with a marble lobby, a sweeping staircase and a handmade chandelier in the Piano Bar. It sails only between Luxor and Aswan: four nights south from Luxor (usually Mondays), three nights north from Aswan (usually Fridays), and seven-night round trips. Stops include Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo, and guided excursions run every day.

The ship has 57 units: 47 Deluxe Cabins of about 22 m², six Presidential Suites, three Elite Suites and a Royal Suite. Every cabin has double-glazed French windows that open onto the Nile, a flat-screen TV with a live sailing channel, individual climate control, a minibar, a safe and electronic door locks.

Breakfast and lunch are buffets in the Main Dining Room on the lower deck, and dinner is served à la carte. Evenings move between the Lounge, which has a dance floor and nightly entertainment, the Piano Bar and the Panoramic Lounge. On the sun deck there is an oversized pool with a shallow extension, a jacuzzi and a bar. A spa with gym, massage, sauna and steam bath completes the facilities.
