Steigenberger Pyramids Cairo opened in June 2019 on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, directly across the highway from the Grand Egyptian Museum. The Giza pyramids and the Sphinx are about 3 km away, Sphinx International Airport is roughly 25 km, Cairo International Airport about 53 km and downtown Cairo around 25 km, so most guests rely on taxis or the hotel's car service rather than walking.

The 132 rooms and suites sit in low-rise wings set around landscaped gardens. Deluxe rooms of about 36 square metres face the city, the pool, the museum or the pyramids, and the pyramid-view rooms have a balcony or terrace. Suites range from 72-square-metre junior and deluxe suites to two large signature suites, and some ground-floor rooms open onto private garden terraces.

Lotus is the main restaurant and terrace, serving buffet breakfast plus oriental and international dishes at lunch and dinner. Zoser Bar offers cocktails and light bites with pool and pyramid views, and the Pool Bar serves smoothies and lunch. There is one large outdoor pool, a small spa with sauna, steam bath and massage, and a gym. It suits travellers who want to be close to the museum and the plateau rather than in central Cairo.
